Peter Gavan experienced no background in the sport of volleyball, but in 1970 when he started instructing at St. Joseph elementary university, he observed a need for girls’ athletics participation at the school.

He made a decision to commence a volleyball crew, and as a result followed 36 yrs of involvement in the activity.
